Maker: Army and Navy Co-Operative Society Limited, established in 1871-1981, the cartouche-shaped and hinged top with riveted brass strapwork canted corners and central inset vacant shield plaque, over a lower front panel with key escutcheon plate and dovetailed brass strapwork corners, flanked by recessed brass carry handles on either side. The canteen box enclosing a royal blue felt lined interior with riveted manufacturer’s plaque, 2 x removable cutlery trays, each embellished with sectional storage compartments for flatware and cutlery and tableware, on a conforming base (17 x 45 x 34cm) (With original key) (Condition report: age wearing, oxidation to mounts, strapwork, splits to case and minor imperfections evident)
