Maker: Michael Joseph Goldsmith, Birmingham 1882, the oval-shaped and hinged diamond pattern decorated body featuring a central geometric lozenge, adorned with finely engraved thistle sprays, surmounted by a scrolled suspension ring, fitted with a stylised interlinked silvered?? book chain choker featuring applied copper coloured snowdrop sprigs interspersed by raised, bright-cut floret engraved belt links and ending in a spring ring clasp (Locket: 5.5 x 4.5 x 0.5cm) (Approx length of chain with clasp: 25cm) (Total mass: 53g) (Condition report: Minor dents to case and old solder repairs evident to chain link)
