Maker: Docker and Burn Ltd, Birmingham 1928, the plain hollow-cast campana-shaped bowl with applied raised and cast foliated and scrolled rim, featuring embossed cascading Adam-style cascading ribbon swags and husk motifs, over a lower beaded band, engraved and inscribed: S.A.R. Golf Club Members Trophy won by J. Mackenzie and dated 1949, on a stepped circular rising base, supported on a turned stained oakwood socle base, with green felt underside SOLD TOGETHER with a gilt-metal flower net (Height of rose bowl without stand: 15.5cm, diameter: 19.8cm) (With stand, height: 20.5cm) (Weighable silver mass: 659g) (Condition report: Minor dents evident to bowl and wear to felt on the underside of the base) Provenance: Purchased by the present owner at the Auction of S.A.R. contents, Old Park Station, Johannesburg, 1994
